No business needs just a website
but an online tool designed to convert traffic
into leads.

Designing “above the fold”

Should we break up lengthy pages?

What does “above the fold” mean?
Fold is the line at which all content on the web page can be viewed immediately, without scrolling. In that way, the fold is what the site shows you first,

Is there one, single fold line?
We use desktop monitors, laptops, smartphones and tablets. Considering so many devices and screen dimensions available on the market there is no one, single fold line.

The fact
Wherever the fold line is that’s the fact that things which appear higher up the screen are going to be seen first, and have a certain visual priority… and it does matters.

But what happens below the fold?
Most publishers spent time optimizing content above the fold line however research from Chartbeat suggests that 66% of attention on a web page is spent below the fold.

Conclusion
Scrolling started with smartphones and since then we have become more and more accustomed to scrolling. It become a habit now. So we don’t need to be afraid of crossing the fold line that much anymore. The most important thing is not whether the call to action appears above or below the fold but that it appears at the point at which the reader is ready to commit to take action.
